My Background
I've been a foodie since way back, but I didn't learn to cook properly until my late twenties. Due to illness, I had to make massive changes in my life and I knew diet was one of them. My mum was a huge influence growing up when it came to health and diet, so I feel fortunate that I even knew to consider changing my diet. I can't even imagine where I'd be now if it wasn't for that open-minded, curious nature of my mum. I see a lot of other people in the general public dealing with health challenges and the idea of diet change doesn't even occur to them, which is very sad.
Because I have autoimmune conditions and endometriosis, I predominantly manage those successfully with a gluten-free and mostly dairy-free diet that is also anti-inflammatory, nutrient-dense and microbiome-friendly.
I could - and sometimes still do occasionally if I'm being honest - view the diet as an oppressive thing to deal with, but it actually opened up my eyes to a new world of fascinating ingredients. It made me more creative and broadened my diet beyond my imagination. The world of gluten-free and dairy-free eating is limitless, not limiting. There are SO many options available now - not like the days when my mum experimented with rice-flour scones that were so rubbery they bounced off the kitchen floor! We've come a long way, baby.
I decided to become a Nutritionist because I learnt so much about health during this period and I later also qualified as a Naturopath after I fell in love with herbal medicine thanks to the influence of my teachers at college.
I love being able to share my creations not just with clients, but also with people all over the world who are looking to improve their health and enjoy their food while they're doing it. I don't believe in unnecessary dietary restriction, but I also know from experience that some foods really do not serve us well, especially if we are dealing with difficult health challenges.

About My Recipes
I love cooking and experimenting in the kitchen, it has become this great passion of mine and I've also taught myself food photography. My recipes are all gluten-free, most are dairy-free and I also have a lot of Paleo and plant-based recipes...I've got everyone covered!
Importantly, in the majority of cases, the ingredients are accessible, affordable, have health-promoting properties and the recipes happen to be super tasty. Food should be enjoyable, and I like to make recipes that are not overly complicated.
